WOW!!!! item number 200230376374 @ $9.99  [ BECAUSE OF MY HEART]

Will probably end up going for some OTT price. Don't think it's really that rare at all.

Now if it was a Rouser copy whistling.gif

Rouser the second issue aint it and it stryene and cracked i think

According to some people (John Manship for example), the Rouser issue is indeed the second issue. I have no idea personally.

The Rouser release I once held in my hand was pressed on vinyl, not styrene, and so is this copy:

Surely must be the second issue, as it has the Fairmount catalogue number...I wondered if it was done to get interest in a different area of the States, but Fairmount had national distribution didn't it? I've asked about this topic several times, still to get a definitive answer!

It's pretty simple really, the Rouser press is a different take, most likely earlier in the session, than the one Fairmount issued.

The Rouser copy carries the Fairmount masterplate numbers in the deadwax ie 1017 etc, it's just a take Fairmount decided not to go with. And it got used in Washington and pressed on Rouser. I personally like the Fairmount take better, some prefer the Rouser take. But the Rouser copy certainly isn't before Fairmount, unless the guy who pressed it had a very fast car....

Thank you sir, much appreciated...just been pointed in the direction of a similar reply you put on an earlier thread. I must pay more attention - or stop doing this while I'm supposed to be doing a radio show!

I note that fairmount was a CP subsidiary. what kind of material, on the whole, did this label feature?

I've got big dee irwin 'you really are together' on a fairmount DJ, a nice tune in my opinion.

was its output more r&b orientated than CP? I wasn't that keen on 'because of my heart' back in the day, but when Sam played it at last year's (or was it you Steve?) S.O.U.L. in Luanco, it sounded great.

Weird how our perception of sounds changes, eh?

I have put a warning up about this seller before on here. I'm pretty sure that this 45 along with the De-lites - Lover - Cuppy...and in fact most of his ebay items, are re-listed....he puts huge reserves on, and when they don't sell, he re-lists them....like all the other sellers on ebay...everything is wonderfull until you ask for a refund on a badly graded record.....you will not get a refund from this guy.....and he grades his records in a dark room, whilst wearing a blindfold.....

Hi Phil. This isn't the same seller (or at least the same user id on ebay) as you're referring to, the delites guy is that red-top guy. This guy's ID is doowopdepot. They are both in Philly though. Are you sure they're the same person?

Red Top has one as well. 'You wait all day for a bus, then two come along at once'

I know a guy who went to high school with Frank, it's a long shot but I'll see if he's somehow able to get in touch with the man!

I always wondered if Frankie Beverly knew about or cared about the popularity of his early recordings with the rare soul collectors / northern soul scene. Most people I've talked to like him who had much bigger hits later and who still are successful due to their later hits don't think much about their early material. My friend saw maze last weekend and said they were great -- has Frankie Beverly ever done a northern thing in the UK?

old pal of mine interviewed him for BBC Radio Nottingam at the hieght of Maze's popularity and Frankie couldn't even remember recording 'If Thats What You wanted' etc.

Having read what boba & Jim said about him not remembering his early stuff, it will probably be no use even if I can get hold of Frank, but I'll try to see about it just in case.....

I put a watch on one of them, not sure which one but at the end it was bid up to$2500+ & not sold as reserve not met. Anyway it's not as good as "If that's what you wanted" & an appauling dancer IMO.

Spot.
