Hi

I picked this record up for 50 pence recently, a great R&B mover...

Johnny & Jake; I Need Your Help Baby/It's A Mess I Tell Ya (MOD)

Anyone know anything about it? Who they are?

Thanks in advance

Brad

Thank you all for your information. I take it Mod and Philips must have had a distribution deal.

The reason I noticed the record was purely because of Madeline Bell being on the Mod label. Anyone know the value?

I ain't selling, but as someone might have said to Arthur Negus "for insurance purposes only!"

Thanks

Hello,

Jake was Johnny Moore's brother, Jake Moore.

Minnie Riperton was a backing vocalist on those sessions.

Best regards,

Paul Mooney

I hope it’s OK to revive this thread. I looked through some old CDs, given away at venues years ago, and came across Johnny Moore - No cash, no charge, a new track to me. I couldn’t find any info on Discogs but there’s a YouTube clip from 14 years ago, credited to Jake Moore. Does anyone know anything about this track. Is it Johnny Moore’s brother?

Yes, it sounds like a studio version. The YouTube clip includes an image of a CD which I couldn’t find any trace of - maybe the source of the version on my CD.
