Tony Turner Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Pat Brady also played it at Stafford if memory serves me right TT
Guest in town Mikey Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Pat Brady also played it at Stafford if memory serves me right TT link Dave T definetly had it covered. For some reason I have 'the Ringleaders', in my head as the c/u name. Dont remember Pat playing it, but he could well have done. It was one of those tracks that had a little more endurance than others. ie it didnt just get played a few times and dropped. I can remember being at an alldayer in a Cheltenham hotel, the Sunday after a Stafford niter, and begging Dave to play it so I could go home to bed. He saved it til his last record

Andyontherock Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Yeah, remember it well from Stafford, First night it got played about three times, pickle was spinning out of control to it as I remember (bless him), think it was Dave Thorley and Pat Brady that played it. I've got a copy (not for sale though I'm affraid) Dont think a paid a lot for it, can't really remember even buying it, but a brilliant track. Never seen it for sale, but Manship has it in his book at £30.00 Hope you get a copy real soon Andy
Dave Thorley Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 (edited) Pat and I had a copy and both played at the same time at Stafford. I swapped mine later as a straight swap, wait for it. The Classics-So glad I found you-Yan-G Won't say who it was, but the guy bugged me for a month to sell it to him, them came up to me at Stafford and said would you take this for it Edited December 11, 2008 by Dave Thorley

boba Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Was played early 80s in Scotland, anyone remember it and who it was by? sorry if this is a stupid question, but is this like a rock record? I don't know anything about rock music, but don't the electric prunes have a song like this or something like that? if so, is it a cover of that song?
Alan Walls Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 sorry if this is a stupid question, but is this like a rock record? I don't know anything about rock music, but don't the electric prunes have a song like this or something like that? if so, is it a cover of that song? Not such a daft question Mate, I know what you mean. The structure of the song is not exactly yer conventional soul/r 'n b format, more like a late 60's/early 70's rock/soul fusion kinda thang going on. There's a sound clip of it a few posts down from the top. Dave T - Jesus, what a swap!
Guest jinx74 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 its a bay area group with some of the members from jesse james' dynamic four. there was also a nightclub out here in the 60s/70s called Mr D's. however im not sure if the label is named after the club or one of the guys in the band. i guess i dont really know any more about it than that. nice record. does not pop up out here in the bay. small pressing im assuming like most things out here.
