boba Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 and this might be of interest The Belles (members Sherlie Matthews, Debra Dion, Rose Mary Bailey and Patricia McElroy) according to their Mirwood contract. chris I think the LA groups book lists the info that Mel stated above.
Guest Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 (edited) I have had the honour of making good friends with SHERLEY MATTHEWS of the belles. Now she told me something that to my knowledge I never knew and apparantly the belles were Sherley with BRENDA AND PATRICE HOLLOWAY can anyone add anything. Then why would there be any reason not to believe her ? But it seems the paperwork does seem to contradict her ? Edited June 2, 2008 by mossy
The Yank Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 If you read the liner notes to "The Mirwood Story " CD , when Sherlie saw the names and the pictures of the group who were supposed to be the Belles, she said she didn't recognize any of them. I think because Brenda was signed to Tamla and Patrice to Capitol, they had a group ready for touring. The Holloway sisters were busy moonlighters- I read somewhere they were also the Wooden Nickels for "Nobody But You". But don't quote me !
