Hi Folks,

New comer in this forum (...well, better to say new writter, cause I read and listen SoulSource for a while now...),

I will spend 2 weeks working in Cleveland, Ohio.

As it's my first time there, I'm searching where are the places to go, venues, shops, bars etc...

In few words what a froggy can do a week-end alone in Cleveland when he's addicted to soul music...

Thanks for your comments... :)

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must if you have any interets in music. If you are looking for 45's you could try these 2 stores. I was there last year and picked up a nice handful of cheapies. Both these stores are a couple of minutes apart on the same street and are about 10 mins drive from Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame:

My Mind's Eye - 13723 Madison Avenue, Lakewood

Hodad's - 13413 Madison Avenue, Lakewood

I also went to Record Den, 7661 Mentor Avenue, Mentor but this is a bit of a drive out of the city. Lots of 45's but a real mixed bag.

Did ok out of My Minds Eye as it's a bit of a goth/rock type store with a few boxes of Soul 45s for good measure...

Didn't manage to do Hodads or Record Den as we were knee deep in snow and the car kept getting stuck/skidding around.

Hodad's had 5 or 6 boxes of Soul 45's but they were a mixed bunch and I got a couple of nice Barbara Lynn Atlantic promo's from there and a couple of other things. They didnt have a lot but as I was in the area.

My Mind's Eye had lots of boxes but condition was a bit iffy. There was also about 10 boxes of unsleeved Soul 45's but I got a bit bored going though them as most of it was battered. Having said that I did get a nice Bobby Hutton - Come See Whats Left Of Me - Phillips from this store amongst some other nice Oldies.

As we were travelling with non-vinyl types this was about all I could swing but I think there were a couple more stores that the guy in Minds Eye recommended but they escape me now.
