Guest Posted June 2, 2008 Share Posted June 2, 2008 Cheers from USA... whilst perusing a trove of original 45s, I located original copies (fair condition, not near mint at all) of "Boogaloo Bown Broadway" by Fantastic Johnny C.; "La La Means I Love You" by Del-Fonics; "Earth Angel" by Penguins (on "Doo-lite" label, fair/poor condition but really really old); "There's No Other (But My Baby)", Phil Spector's first hit with the Crystals on original "Philles" label (poor condition, but playable). The Penguins is probably worth more than the others, I'm not a doo-wop expert but Goldmine guide say's $150 on glossy red label 'Dootone' (not Doolite), $40 on blue label, $50 on maroon label and $30 on black label. The Penguins is probably worth more than the others, I'm not a doo-wop expert but Goldmine guide say's $150 on glossy red label 'Dootone' (not Doolite), $40 on blue label, $50 on maroon label and $30 on black label. Fantastic Johnny C & Delfonics are ten a penny....even over here! John Penguins has been reissued hundreds of times, and any common record in poor condition isn't worth anything I'm afraid.
