the voicemasters you talk about don't have any connection to the Detroit anna group and actually have some connection to Chicago. They were originally from Jackson, MS and cut their frisco and copa 45s there (I think) and then ended up in st. louis where they cut 3 45s for the bamboo label. At least two of the members were in the Hypnotics on Reprise. I think the lead was named James Thompson. So no detroit connection on that specific 45. Thanks.

Thanks for the info Boba, James Thompson wrote "If a woman catches a fool" on bamboo and also "Two lovers" on Frisco, and if he sang lead, that is one talented man. Thanks again, Kev

Hi Bob!

Thanks for posting. Enjoyed the show - I always do.

Some of my favourites this time were:

JJ Barnes - Snowflakes

Pandella Kelly - Stand in for love

Hollywood Attractions - The name of the game

Roman and Weston Expo - We'd better quit

Vanguards - Before you take another step girl

Aristocrats - Be my lady

George Wilson - Here stands the man who needs you

7th Avenue Aviators - The girl next door (Fantastic tune!)

Bobo, there´s some kind of (discrete, but still) "noise" in the background when you´re talking. I have the exact same noise when I record with a mic too. Do you have any idea where this "sound" comes from and how it can be avoided?! I´ve now bought a separate soundcard, instead of using the integrated one, but haven´t yet tried it out. What are your thoughts on this? Sorry for cluttering up your thread with these questions. You can pm me if you want...

Once again, thanks for a wonderful show!!!

Regards

Thanks for listening. The noise this time was actually on the air, I tried to process it out on my computer but it's not like a fixed set of frequencies so it was hard to take out without messing up the sound more. I'm very sorry about this, we hired a new engineer who should hopefully be fixing some of the noise problems that have existed for the last few months. I will maybe play with it tonight to see if I can fix it. It's not on your end.

The george wilson track you mention above is findable cheap and the jj barnes isn't that common but you can get it for like $50-$100. THe other records you list above are all hard.
