Unwanted Love £10-15.

Hung Up £100 if it's the first US press rather than the How Can One Man Live mispress or the UK Contempo issue.

I Need You More Than Ever £20.

You might get more for the Hung Up on a good day, but I think £100 is a realistic rate at which a near mint copy would always sell.

Three brilliant records and I hope I'm not alone in wishing that Unwanted Love enjoys a share of the limelight in its own right: maybe the perfect synthesis of Hey You, Don't Fight It and Hung Up On Your Love. Sadly I think its very availability has counted against it becoming an allnighter play.

Surely no more than around the 30 quid mark? Or am I way to cheap!

Hi Dave

the most expensive one on popsike is £150 for a mint d.j. copy. Manship is listing the Contempo issue at £40, so I would say £30 for a US copy is way too cheap. The record seems to have undergone a resurgence of popularity in the last five years and usually sells pretty quickly if available.

another montclairs 45 that you never see for sale and is imo a brilliant 45;

"come on and hold me" - united international

when i have played this out in the past always gets someone asking about it

manship guide values it at £75, but is far rarer than hung up, hey you, etc

you just dont see it or hear it played out!

'Unwanted' on the 'Dreaming Out Of Season' LP - Anyone know what the rest of the LP is like?

Rich

the 45 I really like a lot is "is this for real or just a dream". It came out on vanessa and paula but the vanessa 45s are pressed at a very low volume and almost unplayable if the vinyl is not mint because you have to turn it up very loud.

Yes,great underated record this Russ, anytime I have put on tapes always got a good reaction, feedback(had a couple at one time but sold one kept the other)seems a semi-known sound amongst collectors.Always thought it was quite a hard piece!! as you don't see it for sale very often,(not the lists I get anyway)unless it crops up on E-Bay? not on so I wouldn't know, but probably as rare as Hey You & certainly harder than the others.

Regards,Arthur.

Thanks Bob & Paul for the info. I'll check my Vanessa 45 but am sure I recall the same pressing issues.

Superb Rich, you would love it. PM an email if you want some sound files as sure I recored some other tracks from it.

Is there any truth in the rumour that Bobby Patterson sings lead on I need you more than ever , due to a no show by Phil Perry :P:D

I've never received confirmation of this, but it certainly sounds more like BP than Perry or Sanlin.

Really like the LP, 'Do I Stand a Chance' is superb, a proper 'journey' of a record, comes in around 9 mins.

Different pressing plants.

Obviously sold well enough to be promoted in different parts of the country.

Nowt sinister about em, have seen styrene issues with a very pale red label, as well as vinyl with a deep red label - depended upon what color paper the pressing plants had in stock at the time.
