Mattfox Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 Don't wanna be pedantic Matt, but the Aristocrats was on Warners and Mainstream and TSOP are both indies but all great records nonetheless........ Ian D hi mate, yeah was my mistake with the aristocrats...got this 45 just for a couple of days latest shot o' mine...mainstream and tsop are indies but in this case i didn't want to be pedantic - cause these labels issued loads of well known records (like the majors) and mainstream for example also released the fantastic alice clark lp which e.g. is uncommon (in my opinion) for this label...cheers, matt

Guest john s Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Art Freeman on UK Atlantic! Want one, can't afford it!
Guest Gene Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 A major label distributes itself, a minor does not. In the 60's and 70's most of those labels you are mentioning were minor, or, Independants. Why would Berry Gordy threaten the Schwartz Bros. He would find another distributor for DC if they didn't stop pushing Shrine? Capitol, RCA, MGM they are majors But, it's still a nice list of records! Gene
