Sean Tasker Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Just been sorting through a few of my wife's old 7s and came across Susan Cadogan - Hurt so good. It was written by Phillip Mitchell, is this the Prince Phillip Mitchell. Cracking track imho Sean
pikeys dog Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Yes it is... Originally done by Millie Jackson. Got two issues of the Susan Cadogan - one of which has the inst. b side credited as The Upsetters.

pikeys dog Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 No your right lads, Katie Love was first, just wiped from my memory because upon hearing it I thought it was shite with a capital S.
jocko Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 (edited) Best version indeed, Mr. Coot - originally on Muscle Shoals Sound, picked up by Scepter, and doesn't cost a fortune on the latter either... Do you really thinks so lads? Katie Love is a fantasic record (Mr Dawg wash your ears out) and one I always used to put on tape swaps, but have a listen to Millie and she kills it, often think I used to probably prefer Katy as it was a bit trendier and less known (in my young and easily influenced days ), but now starting to think Mille wins. Whatever, you should have both versions, fantastic singers, great song, what more could you want. Edited May 24, 2008 by jocko
