Helena Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 (edited) The flip 'Shindig City' is better IMO, very Martha & Vandellas-like. My copy is now SOLD Edited May 28, 2008 by Helena
pikeys dog Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I have a copy in my sales... I'll dig it out and let you know. It won't be Manships price tho'
timthedim Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I have a copy in my sales... I'll dig it out and let you know. It won't be Manships price tho' Got this about a month ago for 190 euro. There were a few copies on GEMM at that time as well for about the same price. I'd search for Shindig city rather than standing in a corner though (Both great tunes though)
Jellybean Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Been after "Don,t give me love" by "Dorothy Berry" for ages now JBxxxKTFxxx

Her other Planetary 45 is harder to find in my experience (and also got an extremely rare sleeved released on Dot in Denmark! ) Edited May 23, 2008 by Sebastian

At the time I saw it for sale I compared it with prices on GEMM and they were all about the same
Sebastian Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Does it come up on e bay much? At least one copy per month. Sometimes more.
Helena Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 At least one copy per month. Sometimes more. It does not, not on US ebay anyway. I got mine for $100 about seven months ago. Haven't seen many more since then, and I check ebay almost every day. Her other 45 'You better watch out' comes up more often in my experience. https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...t=dorothy+berry Btw, thanks Seb for emailing Oliver!

Don't know this 45, but I presume its 60s? I did note the following comment on one of the past sellers at popsike though (quite funny considereing that the auction ended at USD99!): "Dorothy Berry - Standin' On the Corner / Shindig City - US 45 - Near Mint condition - Planetary 105 - Rare Northern Soul - Manship values this at $800. This will be around $1200.00 within two years. Great uptempo Northern Soul - Perfect condition - True collectors item."

Re Doroty Berry: I disagree with you, it does crop up often for sale, both on eBay and from major US dealers. The reason her other Planetary 45 crops up more often on Popsike than "Shindig City" is probably because it usually fetches higher prices. One of the latest copies of "Shindig City" on eBay (March 2008) sold for $49.99 with one bid. Here's the link: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=230227051232

And soulis; yes this is from the mid 60's.
