Barry
I'll give you my lowdown on stylus - you can waste a lot of wedge and get nowt - in my experience, and I have played records out four nights a week for 20 odd years, the Stanton Groovemaster (in it's many forms over the years - it's changed colour and size etc), brings the best out of your record, it can almost take the place of a bigger an more costly amp as regards quality output. Listen to to the £16.95 people if you wish - I am happy to give you an educated view. You will get 18 months to two years out of them GM stylus, a bargain for the response you get out of them. Otherwise, you can spend £40 on a pair of panel pins that you think look cool. Link to comment Social source share
Guest Trevski
https://av-sonix.co.uk/groovemaster-package-170546-p-658.html How hard is it? Take your own ffs. Or does that mean you have to put yer hand in yer pocket? I know the script mate 'Trevski', or whatever your Mam called you. Direct your put downs at me, and not at me via one of your mates. I can cope (that is, when I can see that you know what you are talking about anyhow, otherwise I may think that you are talking out of your arse). ???? Just read this. What the F**k are you on about???? Phil says he uses Stanton 500's which cost about £20, as a spare/backup. He mentioned that to have spares of Groovemasters would cost a fortune.I simply pointed out that Groovemasters/Discmasters, are only £16.95 which are cheaper than his, so maybe he should consider them. So whats your problem????? How am I puting you down?? Where do you actualy come into it? My posts were not refering to anything you had said, whatsoever! If I wanted to put you down (which I don't) I would direct whatever I had to say to you. I don't need to go thru anyone else to do my work for me, I can more than take care of myself, thanks. (PS. My Mum does actualy call me Trevski! ) (PPS. As for me not knowing what I'm talking about, and talking out my arse, I shall treat that remark with the contempt it deserves.) Quinvy
Just bringing this back to the fore. I have been trying to get some advice as to the best possible cart/stylus to use at my allnighter. It is a scary prospect that so many irriplacable 45's are played on my decks, and I want to ensure that they not only sound fantastic, but that they are being damaged as little as is humanly possible.......trouble is, you read posts like this, and you are more baffled than you were before you started. Everyone has an opinion, but they are all different. So who's right? I have emailed all the major manufacturers, and asked for their reccomendations.......only one has had the courtessy to reply. Shure. I'll be using these from now on. Thanks to Shure...... Link to comment Social source share

Thanks to Shure...... you wont be disappointed phil...been using these for about 4 years now, 100% definite improvement in sound quality from other needles i've used, i always take my own with me wherever i dj and when i change them over from the ones being used you can hear the difference straight away, the only thing i would say is treat them carefully (and tell others who use them at your night to do the same) as they dont take too kindly to being bounced off slipmats etc, i havent broken any myself but have had a couple ruined by others Link to comment Social source share
