Who Was Duke Polluta Funk?

Recommended Posts

I remember going to a Notts Palais All-Dayer in 1978/9 & this oddly named DJ was supposedly on in the Jazz-Funk room. I didn't venture down there to check him out, but does anyone else remember him? Sounds like a casting reject from Bowie's Ashes To Ashes video!

Duke Polluta Funk ... now there's a blast from the past .... for some strange reason I've a mental picture of a guy in a set of white overalls with the words Duke Polluta Funk across his back, mind you it was thirty years ago .... about the time when records like prance on and let the music play we're biggies  not that I'd know anything about the jazz-funk scene of course

Charles Earland is a great record...Ray M should investigate.
