Thanks in advance Steve I don't know anything about this record. Isn't clifton a doowop revival label though that put out throwback doowop acts (mostly white) in the 80s? Or is this item on a different clifton label?

Think this is a different clifton label - This record certainly aint Doowop. LOL steve
Sebastian Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 The Clifton release is a reissue from the mid-70s or so. The original release of this was in 1957 (or therabouts) on the X-TRA label and it also got a release on CANDLELITE. Both of these labels output are popular with doowop collectors and the original 45s are (or were?) fetching big money. "It Ain't True" is uptempo jump blues with heavy gospel influences (some might call it a "rocker").
