Just seen this on youtube, 1min 28 secs in just watch this guy spin (twice!!!), holy feck how good is that.

I can see Sandy Holt ( the guy with the Soul fist round his neck), Julie Bebb who went on to work for Casino Classics I think, Gid, and is it Vernon?

We used to be like battle tops at Wigan as we spun in opposite directions and whenever we clashed we both went flying. Good mate over the years ( especially after dragging him out the pool at Wigan when he was drowning) still see him out and about now, top guy

By the way did someone nick all the tee shirts???

All that footage is on the Soul Function dvd from a few years back.

I really like all the footage apart from the excerpt where there are five or six dancers in what appears to be a gym dancing around with mullets and bowl haircuts with no tops on. Jesus speed really messes up ones fashion sense.

Hideous stuff and it appears a bit contrived compared to the rest of the footage where people are actually in a club they would be in whether there were cameras there or not.

THOUGHT MY EYES WERE SEEING DOUBLE THERE ANDY :D .

He used to do it a fag on and make paterns,he`s still dancin' tho' not seen him spinnin`for a while.

Can't make my mind up if it is Vernon or not! He certainly used to wear a yellow T-shirt quite a lot!!

I used to try and avoid dancing anywhere near Vernon myself. Every time he used to spin you got a

shower of sweat all over you!!! ohmy.gif

Sammy's a great all round dancer, but Vernon's spins are faster. Tall Paul from Bolton way is the only one I've seen close

i remember years ago watching this old soul dancing ,doing flips,backdrops and spins and bless him when he did a spin which he did very well and fast though not as fast as some and bless him HIS FALSE TEETH FLEW OUT how embarrased was he..

Amazing, 2 spins, a cartwheel (Hand Spring) & then another spin. :thumbsup:

Sorry the velours have the best version, no contest.

Great spinner though, dont see it much now, although not sure where you get a spin in to most of the top 100 played today.

In fact, there not much northern soul dancing action anyway these days (as was 73/80) with so many floaters, modern beats and Rock and Roll played today.

Not that Im complaining as variety is the SOL as they say, and not many could dance at full pelt for more than a handfull of records anyway.(Me included).
