Barry Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I know it is not big , and it is not clever , but there is no one watching / listening at this ungodly hour ....... In respect of your video , should it not be " Take it To The *ank " .......... Malc Burton Another Shalamar Modern play was 'Right In The Socket' (Morecambe maybe, possibly Dave @ Leicester). Recently reactivated, to a new and younger audience, by Dave (Joey Negro) Lee on the current soulful dance/disco/soul scene. Malc, never say 'you shouldn't but you do' - there is no apologies to be made for understanding quality productions. For every sniper there are ten people watching your back, maybe saying nowt, but respecting your views.

One of the prime examples - to me , in my opinion - of quality record productions , is the work done by Laurin Rinder & W. Michael Lewis ........ Their productions , especially with El Co Co on " Cocomotion " and " I'm Mad As Hell " are second to none : both records - especially in their full unedited versions - are ranked as firm favourites with me ....... Their album " The Seven Deadly Sins " is another prime / creditable example of quality production ....... Malc Burton Edited May 11, 2008 by Malc Burton

Malc Burton I wouldn't have considered R&L, Malc - but I reckon I'd agree with you on all of those and would add Le Pamplemousse's GET YOUR BOOM BOOM (AROUND THE ROOM) on U.S. Avi as another goodie of theirs. I bought the "Seven Deadly Sins" L.P. having heard and bought the LUST single in my local shop (God! That's a long time since!)...took several plays for the album to hit home though. An earlier album - Brazil (1975) - was a little lighter in weight though...
Guest WPaulVanDyk Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Frank Wilson - Do I Love You, it's just one of those tracks where you think ok over played and so on but it's soo good and if you not even into Northern soul that's the one you would play to them and tell them about how much it is worth Also Sam cooke - Sugar dumpling i love that song and never get sick of it. Just hoping i can find the version by the Valentino's sometime
Bbrich Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 mine is suspicion - the originals. i reckon i could listen to this for hours. Funny thing is as I was thinking of posting this I logged onto the Mary Fox NS program and it was the first track..... I believe I heard another version of this - anyone know who it is by ?
El Corol Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Thanks for the info. cheers Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but this is the Originals but when first played they speeded up the track and said it was The Detroit Prophets.....if I remember right they didn't know who it was by at that time (but I could be wrong on that last bit??) Wierd thing is I was so used to hearing the speeded up version that it took a bit of getting used to when finally hearing played at the correct speed...
Guest marge Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 My world is on fire and Howard Guyton, I watched you slowly slip away must have heard them a zillion times, and always get up to dance to them, like it was 20 years since I last heard them...
