Stereo sushi vol 8/9/10/11/12 are all worth a listen, you often see them discounted on ebay. Also Soul lounge 3 (Dome stuff, more on the soulful than disco side). Bar SUSU deep and Bar SUSU - the other side of midnight. Any of these should get you started, try Juno to listen before you buy with these and others. Enjoy Sean

Guest bradcam Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 I recommend the entire Moodymann back catalogue. CD wise there's Silent Introduction (Planet E) and Mahogany Brown (Peacefrog). There's an amazing tune on 12" called Amerika (KDJ) that has a sample of Gil-Scott Heron reading one of his spoken word poems. I'll try to upload a snippet.

I love a bit of Moodymann but i'd be hard pushed to recommend his entire back cat to someone just getting into a bit of soulful house you'll put him off for life its advanced house music, not for the uninitiated !! Guest bradcam Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Yeah... You could have a point there. At times he can go a bit mental!! He has a fair bit of anger towards "Whitey" as well. Brad

Brad Two that are quite accessible - 'Black Mahogany' & 'Don't You Want My Love', under his name Kenny Dixon Jr......pure genius house music !! Girf
