Boot is a black and white label, on styrene.

A bit rushed as I am going to work in half an hour.

This is an Original White DEMO.

Strange one this, as the "PLUG SIDE" (PART II)

Has the "-X" which denotes the "B Side" with a Monarch.

(Delta # 73035 = August / September 1968)

ORIGINAL DEMO - STYRENE MONARCH

(All of the Marks are within 180 Degrees of the Deadwax).

I will search my other copy out on White DEMO.

This is the big thick paper label demo from the left 1278J upside down then UB 140494 then a circle with an S in.

And another from Mangomn2003

sadly I cant enlarge it but the credits are different from the other 2 copies.

Thanks for Posting these, I hadn't seen your copy of the Thick Paper one before.

The Other one, (I wonder what the Matrix Marks are), I haven't seen that one before, either.

I have Enlarged them all in the Previous Post to compare.

Neil Jones had an issue for sale 2 weeks ago , never seen one before!

The issue looks great so much colour, so what is the boot like we are all desperate to see one.

Always assumed this was a boot, but it might be the reissue. It's on vinyl. It's a clearer print than it looks on the photo.

It's scratched in

K - 8489 and UA - 2726 -

Suppose that means the only thing is to get the rulers out and measure the cut to see if its off the master plates, but it could be from the master tapes.

I'll Ask Steve If He Knows Anything But It's More Likely To Be Some Issue Within United Artist At the Time That Had Nothing To Do With Him. Besides "Breakaway" Steve Used Jimmy On A Pepsi Jingle And On Two Songs In The Soundtrack Of "What Do You Say To A Naked Lady" A Feature Length Film Version Of Allen Funt's Candid Camera.

On My Copy Pictured Above It Has UA - 140494 (On Part 1 Side)

and 140495 -RC 5 (on The plug Side)

I Wouldn't Imagine That It Was. Just Reading A Letter That Steve Wrote To Me In 1986 And As He Recalls It:

"Unfortunately, The Record Never Sold. UA Put It Out As A Freebee From General Motors, Didn't Promote It, And It Just Died."

So It Seems Unlikely To Have Been Reissued In The Same Year.

I think thats a legitimate press. Gary Lewis was done at exactly the same time. Late 74 or early 75.

Further to what I said earlier, I seem to think the Boot has the 1970s block style UA logo.

As it is White & Black rather than the usual Biege I assumed that it was a Re-Issue or ?

It is from a box that I hadn't been in for a while, I thought that it said DEMO on it somewhere.

Yeah, This One Is definitely more of the 70's style, in fact I think that UA had moved there operation out to Los Angeles by then. Because My Promo Has Them Still Listed In New York.

This is the uk original which every member of the Casino (and family and freinds) bought multiple copys of on its uk genuine first release at the time ? There are more copys of this in the charity shops than ABBA 45s ?

Or is this just nonsense ?

That was my Initial thought, unless it was some kind of re-issue, but why White & Black.

The Normal Stock Copy would have been Beige.

Never seen that "Special Products" one before - I always assumed that the lower one was a legal repress for the NS market, but as we all know assumptions are dangerous things!

But I Was Correct. Steve Hasn't A Clue As To Why The Demo Credits Vary From Being Fully Written Out As Arranged & Produced By Steve Karmen

Or The The Alternate Abbreviation Arr. & Prod. By Steve Karmen.

And Much To My Delight I Found The Polaroid Pictures That He Has Hanging Outside His Office With He And Jimmy During A Pepsi Soda Jingle Session. Looks Like They Were Having A Brilliant Time Too. He Also Sent Me One Of His Mint Copies Of The Issue And Yes The Colours On The Issue Are Quite Nice... Just Like The One Up For Sale

I think that the Special Products one was a legitimate re-pressing probably done by Soussan in '74/'75 ish.

I found about 200 copies of the re-press in an L.A. thrift store in '76, so I can only presume that they were done in L.A. and the over-pressings were dumped.........
