Guest Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 hi all,any info on the "mod" record label which has "picture me gone" is it legit ????
Ian Seaman Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 MOD 1007 was the 1st issue i reckon mate, it may be a local label release around same time as Phillips totally legit tho mate Ian.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Mod was actually a very short-lived subsidiary of US Philips. I think that the record transferred to the main Philips label while it was still a new release.... TONY PS - apropos of nothing in particular, here's an ad for my favourite Madeline Bell record!
mischief Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Tony added his favorite so heres mine Madeline Bell - Don't cross over to my side of the street.. Awesome ..
Nickinstoke Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 (edited) Johnny & Jake "I need your help Baby" also came out on both Mod & Philips, didn't it? There was also a company sleeve for Mod, similar design to the label. Edited April 28, 2008 by nickinstoke

Either way, it's interesting to know that it was a subsidiary of phillips, I never knew that even though I've found both records. I always thought it looked like a bootleg or something but never understood why they would boot johnny and jake.

Both the Mod & Philips releases had "I need your help baby/It's a mess I tell ya", you're probably thinking of the Blue Rock release of "It's a mess I tell ya", whichc did have a different flip.
