Guest Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 (edited) As a lot of people on SS are aware , I am compiling photographs of old NS / Soul Club for publication on a web site ........... Despite the best intentions , I cannot get to everywhere that once had a venue to take a photograph , so I am asking for the kind help of SS members ........ Obviously , there have been many changes in the landscape of a town or city in the 30 + years from where a venue once stood , but my main aim , is to document the site - and the building that once housed the venue if it is still there : if it is there , all well and good , but if it is not , it needs to have a photographic record anyway , of what it has been replaced with - for example , if it is just an empty plot of land , or a car park , as in the case of where The Torch was ........ This is where SS members can hopefully help me ........ I have photographs of quite a few sites where venues once stood , but I need many more . For example , if you live in Bolton , a picture of what was once Va - Va's in Great Moor Street ; Castleford - where the Tinned Chicken was : Dewsbury - The Bin Lid ; Wolverhampton - the site of The Cats ; Selby - The Museum Hall Of Soul and The Gypsy Moth ; Morecambe Pier ; Birmingham Locarno ; Hinckley Leisure Centre ; Nottingham Rock City , etc , etc , etc - the list is endless ........ If you are able to take a digital pgotograph of a site / building , please send it to me at burtonmalc@yahoo.co.uk Anyone who supplies me with such a photograph will get their name mentioned alongside of its' image on the site . Many thanks Malc Burton Edited April 28, 2008 by Malc Burton

Malc Burton Love to see one of the Blackpool Mecca as it is today, I was last there in 1998 for the mecca re-union, it was falling apart then, I seem to think there was a go-kart track in the car park !!!! No , they have not arrived yet ...... I would appreciate you having another try - burtonmalc@yahoo.co.uk In respect of mail into my inbox , I do not mind - quite like in fact - that people I know from the scene and from SS , want me to be their friend on Facebook ........ That is OK , as I know them - but I am getting spooked by requests from people I do not know , asking me to be their chums : If I do not reply and say yes , they do not let me alone until I comply ........ Can this be classed as stalking ? ......... Malc Burton Edited May 14, 2008 by Malc Burton
