Headlined by Smokey & The Miracles, support are The Ballads performing "I can see your love" (not sure if Wee or VJ version) PLUS

EDDIE FOSTER WALLY COX & TERRIBLE TOM !!! Like to know what the MC/DJ was playing.

Oh for a Tardis, must try ebay for one, anyone wanna go back?

Just to fill in detail gig was at CONTINENTAL CLUB, 1658 - 12th STREET, OAKLAND, CA

Admission was $2.50 advance or $3.00 on the door.

Tickets available from MUSIC CITY.....now thats interesting as aint that the place where JM picked up the big hit in Oakland ?

I wonder if the Music City guy was also DJ'ing at the CONTINENTAL CLUB???

He did in our house .......

It was the name we gave to my son Thomas , when he was two and attempting to demonstrate his " authority " ........

I think it's fair to say that the Music City guy effectively discovered Northern Soul long before the rest of us! We already know that the guy had EVERYTHING from Johnny's Oakland hit a few years back.

Plus a normal night at the Continental Club routinely featuring Eddie Foster, Wally Cox and Terrible Tom says it all really! shades.gif

Shock Horror! Does this mean that, contrary to popular belief, the American's actually discovered 'Northern Soul' long before we did???????

I think we should be told.

Good question!

something that has caused me some sleepless nights .....

always seemed strange that the A&R guy at Maverick or A&M didnt question the Pseudonym.....

mind you anyone recording "Zip per di doo dah" can be forgiven for hiding behind that name.....even the roach's that had munched through the sleeve left the record label alone, yes THAT bad.
