Spinologist Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Hi, I have a 45 by a group called the Ambassador's on Soul Track Records's Sound in Motion label, an Impala Record production of Detroit, Michigan. Both sides are credited to Clemmer Yancy. The A side is a funk piece called I've Got to find Her, and the B side is a ballad called Believe In Me. Anyone heard of this one? Any information would be appreciated. The Spinologist

The Spinologist Hi Phil: a detroit seller (I'm trying to remember the guy's name, will follow up if I do) had this on ebay about a year ago, also beat up, I think he maybe got $40 because of the condition, it is rare. I have a recording of the ballad side, it's a deep soul sounding group ballad. I don't know if there is a connection to the ambassadors on bon / reel (who are also detroit), maybe there is. It played poorly, I'm assuming the ballad side plays bad on the copy you have too since it looks beat. Thanks.

Yeah, this copy is very beat up, and plays with lots of surface noise. I will start with a low minimum bid on it in my next auction. Thanks also for the good feedback on your last acquisition from me by the Kansas City Express. I read your forum input on bootlegss. Last month, I listed the Imperial Wonders on the Solid Foundation label. it looked authentic, as the label showed wear and fading. Upon closer inspection, the marks in the trail off indicated it was a 1960's bootleg, and I had to withdraw it from the auction. Noteworthy that bootlegs were even made back then, before there the items had become collectible.
