Can't really go wrong with the Intruders "I'll Always Love My Mama" if yer mum's there! Works for most Souly audiences IMO.

Whatever you do don't play "Mama's Gone" though! :wicked:

Ian D :shades:

In fact here it is.....

Always worth a listen and lovely sentiment! The 12" version is phenomenal as well if you have an 70's/80's crowd in - playing it now in fact 9.43 of perfection...........

More applicable to a wayward youngster!!

Mama, I wish i'd stayed at home by Deneice Chandler

Attachment removed - I know there's been problems with refosoul but please don't upload mp3s. Thanks.

Edward Hamilton - Thank Your Mother - Mary Jane

only a cheapue but fabulous lyrics

for once in your life tell her the truth and play

trini lopez - sinner not a saint wicked.gif

Sorry Rachel,

Will have to learn Refosoul which I'm dreading......... whistling.gif

Have trouble learning most technology especially when it's clunky but I'll make the effort.

I think it's working again now - just press the 'new media' button at the bottom of thread and it's more or less the same as attaching a file to a post, instructions are all there

JB,

I played The Intruders recently for Kirsty M's Mothers birthday and she loved it.

I also played Mother Dear by the Supremes.

The apt 'Song for my Mother' Maze featuring Frankie Beverly

Jimmy Ruffin's 'Mothers Love'

or even Big Maybelle's 'My Mothers Eyes'

Took my mum to a do the other week for her 60th birthday.

Got the dj to play I'll always love my mama by the intruders. She'd never heard it before, she was chuffed to bits

Thats so nice... wub.gif

How about ...

Johnnie Taylor

"You're the best in the world"

flip side of

"Disco lady" on Columbia.

Pukka tune easy to find and cheap as chips

I bet your mum won't mind what you play, she'll be chuffed to bits no matter record what you choose.

Then again !!

If she likes her Soul an listens to the lyrics

Jr Walker "shut up and don't interrupt me"

Wouldn't be a wise choice :ohmy::lol:
