Guest pongo Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 amazing tune I'm guessing its pricey and super rare. has there been a re-issue? and can anyone please let me have a MP3 i'd be very pleased to have any of these questions answered. thank you very much for your time
Garethx Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 It's on Cadet has and been on a couple of Kent CDs: one of the Dave Godin Deep Soul treasures and the album dedicated to Barbara and The Browns. Not super rare, it should be possible to pick one up for less than £40 (much less if you hunt around). Seldom seems to turn up in really mint condition, so I'm guessing it may have sold pretty well at the time of release. A wonderful record, as you say, from a great artist. Pretty much all her releases whether as Barbara and The Browns or Barbara Brown are well worth picking up and some, such as this and the XL, Sounds of Memphis and Atco singles are among the finest female soul ever recorded.
Sean Hampsey Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 You'll find the Male vocal of this on the flipside to James & Bobby Purify's "Let Love Come Betwen Us". A great version, so often overlooked! Sean
Platters 81 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 i really like the Barbara Brown "so in love" Carnival 45.....sounds like the Manhattans on backing......
