KevH Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 hi ,just come across "I'M GETTING TIRED" - CARLETTES on Bobby Robinson,in me boxes. Shame its a boot/re-issue.I think. So,info please on said toon, ie: price etc on an original.I know it was played at the Mecca, any where else? Any pic's Mr.Rounce? Thanks,,KEV.
Pete S Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 It's damn hard to find on Capitol, I've only had it once, but found it quite hard to sell. John books it at 300, I think I got 75 for it, though I did get it off ebay for a small amount. Don't know when it was played but the boots appeared 78 ish.

KevH Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 mick smith had an original on RB RB?,not BR?.SCAN ANYONE?
Guest Johnny Mack Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Used to have a copy of this on Capitol which was credited to the CORLETTES - obviously a mis-print that was later corrected. Best john
Sebastian Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Here is the original release on BR (the flipside): Here is the Capitol release mis-credited to The Corletts. The Bobby Robinson label release is a bootleg (or perhaps official second issue? I don't know). Has anyone got a scan of a Capitol copy which spells the group name correctly?

Pete S Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Sold the last issue I had on Capitol for £350 last year, think you should have held out for a bit more Pete! Adam. I think I might have sold it to Kev Roberts...this was about 4 years back. Sometimes you can't hold out for more
Hakenig Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 here's a scan of the Capitol release with alternate spelling:
Hammie Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I believe the Bobby Robinson Label IS the original and was an indy label The scan shown of the BR label IS an original which is very rare, the label is moulded into the record which is vinyl. The record WAS booted on a BR label but the boot has a paper stuck on label on a Styrene record. I know this because I sold the boot for a tenner to J Manship this went on his second issue list and is quite rare as a boot.I acquired an original vinyl copy from a really good collection, I sold the original on to Tim Brown as he didnt have it he gave me £350 for it back in 2002. Pretty sure this info is right

Sebastian Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Do you mean it was booted on a 'BR' lable or 'Bobby Robinson' lable? The original is on the BR label as shown above, and pressed on vinyl. The bootleg is on the BOBBY ROBINSON label (NOTE! not BR!) and is pressed on styrene. Would be great if someone could post up a scan of this as well.

Does anyone know if there is a connection to the Corlettes on Nita (and I think another label)? I have the nita 45 and it's a girl group thing from around 1963 / 1964. I think it looks like a New York record -- is the Corlettes' Bobby Robinson the Enjoy Bobby Robinson? Can anyone tell me the names that are on the Capitol / BR 45 so I can compare names? Thanks.
Hammie Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Now you've jogged my memory your right, the boot label did say Bobby Robinson, sorry. Was a few years ago I sold the boot. Dont think the sound quality of the boot was very good either.
Sebastian Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 is the Corlettes' Bobby Robinson the Enjoy Bobby Robinson? Can anyone tell me the names that are on the Capitol / BR 45 so I can compare names? Yes it is that Bobby Robinson and he produced it. Both sides are by the way very early tunes written by the legendary Patrick Adams.

The BOBBY ROBINSON label "boot" was pressed 1977/8 @ "BESTWAY" New Jersey. Same time as Johnny Bragg on the white label Elbejay etc. Here's a link https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/searchartist....TES&Format= Edited March 13, 2008 by john manship
