Guest Carl Dixon Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Hi everybody If there are Spyder Turner fans out there, he has some new material available to listen to on his MySpace account. 'What goes around comes around' is a slow number, but the lyrics are excellent: https://www.myspace.com/spyderturner also there are items you may be also interested here: https://www.spyderturner.com/flash/index.html and I do like this by him from back in the day: https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lc8srsDffww and if you want to see Ralph Teranna (TeraShirma studios) talking to camera about Spyders new single, go here: https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dkzR9mxOMl0 I think his 'cloud nine' is the business.... (on MySpace..) I am sure Spyder would really appreciate his sites being checked out....and better still, somebody buying his new material or even promoting it. If you need a full good quality mp3 for your radio programme for example, let me know.
Guest Carl Dixon Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) Hi everybody - Just to let you know that legendary Detroit singer "Spyder Turner" will be appearing on Harry Grundy's' "The Right Track Soul Show " Sunday evening (17th May) somewhere between 8pm and 10pm UK time (for US listeners deduct 5 hours). I am sure Harry will be profiling Spyders wonderful career and recordings spanning the last few decades. There may also be an opportunity to hear a couple of the tracks we cut last year together in March 2008 at Studio A/Dearborn Heights. "Tell me (crying over you)/Spyder Turner" & "Detroit (city by the river)/Bandtraxs" were just two out the four songs completed that week and if lucky Harry may be tempted to spin at least one of them...or even both. Here are the details for Harry's programme. The Right Track Soul Show Salford City Radio 94.4 fm Sunday nights 8.00 pm - 10.00 pm www.salfordcityradio.org email: righttrack@salfordcityradio.org https://www.therighttrack.org.uk Studio Number: 0161 793 2944 / 2942 Feel free to spread the word by email forwarding, posting on your blogs, Facebook and forums! It's important that artists get their recognition, because when they do, so does everybody else. Edited May 16, 2009 by Carl Dixon
Guest Carl Dixon Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 The interview was great, and it took Spyder back to when he was just 17 years old and recording his first records. Also how he got the name 'Spyder' from his school chums. Also there were many of his old and new recordings showcased by Harry, including 2 tracks he was involved in with me in Detroit, March 2008 - 'Tell me (crying over you)'/Spyder Turner and 'Detroit (city by the river)'/Bandtraxs. Both tracks will be available on iTunes and Amazon.com/co.uk soon. I uploaded them yesterday. Dennis, Spyder, Pree and myself are anxiously wondering how our work, along side some exceptional session musicians is going to be received by the media/jocks. Spyder Turner has had a fascinating career in the business. Always writing, performing and recording. He has plans for new releases and hopeful of one day travelling to the UK to perform. To hear the programme again, or download it (right mouse click 'save target as' on the 'click here to download' at the bottom) go here: https://www.therighttrack.org.uk/latest_show.html
