I saw that mate, nearly emailed the seller but then thought - well maybe it should be the prospetcive buyers who should do the research because the seller certainly doesn't care if he sells a pressing as an original

Came out on Valise same number 6900 two designs thick vinyl light red label as on JM's auction and thiner vinyl deep red label as my example here, big difference in the book value £750.00 thick and £450.00 thin, fantastic record whichever the copy.

Hope this helps you, the copy you posted as Pete stated is a bootleg for sure.

I disagree with Pete. It's actually a five million per cent boot.

Incidentally, following Mark's post, I've got both the boot and a proper one and my proper one is a much darker red but also quite thick vinyl. Maybe there are three proper ones Mark?

Mark,

I found 300 or more, of that design in the Carolinas in the late 70s but we sold out in less than 2 years. So that design isn't particually rare, elusivity is caused by collectors quite rightly keeping them, it sells really well when comes to market.

But the thick vinyl New York FIRST PRESS is decidedly tough to find, can't have had more than 3 of them in my life.

To view the rare first press follow this link:

To my knowledge there are only the two authentic presses.

Hi John

Here is the First Press, I bought it from Soul Bowl

Mentioned as Rarer Thick/Heavy Vinyl copy in the Listing back then too.

Considering the amount of Rare stuff on the Soul Bowl lists back then,

It must have been considered Quite rare at the time, back in the 70's.
