Denbo Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 QUOTE (denbo @ Feb 24 08, 08:01 PM) I Want Her Back - Dick Jordan - Oriole Test Press Is this correct? Surely you mean Piccadilly? Jamie?? Hi, Has Jamie got something to do with Oriole? I know Jamie is the American import label for this UK Piccadilly released 45 but what have either got to do with Oriole? Just curious. Can anybody help? Denbo.
ShorterSoul Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 interesting, just been googling Dick Jordan and he had a couple of releases on Oriole, namely Little Christine and Hallelujah i love her so (the Eddie Cochran R&R number).. reckon that Oriole test press must be quite rare, i've got a Jamie US copy and I know it got released on picadilly in the UK
Guest Richard Bergman Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 (edited) Heartache Hurry On By - Joy Marshall - Decca U.K. demo N/M £100 Is this the same track also recorded by Roy Hamilton ?? The Betty Green record has a wonderful deep flip entitled "he's down on me" no tittering at the title ....!!!!! Edited March 3, 2008 by Richard Bergman
Airfixkid Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 interesting, just been googling Dick Jordan and he had a couple of releases on Oriole, namely Little Christine and Hallelujah i love her so (the Eddie Cochran R&R number).. reckon that Oriole test press must be quite rare, i've got a Jamie US copy and I know it got released on picadilly in the UK Dick Jordan had 4 releases on Oriole - all 1960 - some of these days /I want her back on picadilly 35035 (1961). maybe it was meant to be on oriole in '60 but was shelved and released on piccidilly instead? makes that oriole demo very rare I think. (got the piccadilly copy last weekend by coincidence!)
Guest 45s and 33s Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Heartache Hurry On By - Joy Marshall - Decca U.K. demo N/M £100 Is this the same track also recorded by Roy Hamilton ?? Aye, Richard, it is def the same track as Roy Hamilton. The Joy Marshall is a very nice version but Roy's version is IMHO the better. Ali
