But back to your thread----- Everything in my very dated box. Could sell for a fortune and p*ss off to the sun! But you'd all miss me "NOT" QOF (oh you might like to try brining my signature tune back - but i wouldn't want to see you publically stoned - hard rock type things not chemically induced stoned. Mind you there hasn't been a public flogging in Bedford for a long time could be fun) XXXXX
Guest Soultown andy Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 The Chuck Jackson and Edwin Starr tracks are both regular plays at Sheridans and Lowton and go down well.
Mark Jones Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Think my choice would be "Eddie Daniels - Is He Better (than me)" Old Ian Clark spin at the 100 Club back in the 80's as I remember. Anyone got one for sale?

"young hearts" Candi is no 1. young hearts is a great record,i was lucky to recently find a u.k promo only 12" american disco collectors would kill for this its a shame records like this cant be thrown in here and there on the northern scene, personally id like to see armed and extremely dangerous first choice as the top sound in the country[ the tom moulton long mix of course ]
Guest hammy Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 A couple of bits I've been playing on and off which SHURELY deserve more attention: Donnie Wells - You've Got My Love on SCEPTER : Jesus if this was covered up and unknown it would be massive. Had spins in the past but needs the dust blown off and another chance IMHO. Great £20er. Prophets on Soul - Win My Time on MARSI: What an ender. Duelling male lead vocals, horns and mid tempo heaven. £15 or thereabouts. May have had spins in past - not 100% sure. Stop me. I'm off to sit down. Hammy
stomper45 Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 sorry Chrissio for confusing you, i meant was harping back to mid 7ts with Chuck Jackson, Candi was an aside just mentioning that she was doing well in the clubs at the time sorry... but on reflection CS its another feelgood like "Harvest for the world" that can be aired in a modern scenario, anymore worth pushing again
Guest martyn Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 sorry Chrissio for confusing you, i meant was harping back to mid 7ts with Chuck Jackson, Candi was an aside just mentioning that she was doing well in the clubs at the time sorry... but on reflection CS its another feelgood like "Harvest for the world" that can be aired in a modern scenario, anymore worth pushing again link Hmmmm, will have to think on that one over a pint of ace lager in The Pilgrims Inn.
Guest Stuart T Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 They should revive Right Track. It really needs it. It should be played everywhere. As part of the Right Track revival campaign I'm going to mention it on every thread on here until my fingers ache.

Surely you should be into that new wave of British heavy metal, not these oldies. I think.

I think. link It's prbably only a temporary morph and still getting to grip with what's 21st centuary northern never mind having to brush up my rock as well, I am only human. This leather thing is great though - those curry and beer stains just wipe away!!!! CV Chrissie O Occupation - Very temporary rock chick Life's ambitions - to save the world from shit music The person I most admire - Sharon Osborne (Well you have to really, with a husband and kids like that, bless her) Don't worry the QOF will be back as I said this is only a temp morph and part of my therapy!!

Guest Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 young hearts is a great record,i was lucky to recently find a u.k promo only 12" american disco collectors would kill for this We have been known to give "YOUNG HEARTS" a spin down on the south coast always goes down well, as it should as it's a true classic. Derek
stomper45 Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 yay i like that one Derek but its not a norden sowl sound issit???? maybe a debate on this track as often seen mentioned on northern playlists. Isleys "harvest" in similar vein to above, tavares "dont take away" somehow defied normal logic imo and went down a storm in the casino tho it coulda featured in "saturday night fever" just as comfortably, love all 3 records btw

Paul R Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Because I don't get around anymore, I don't know if various sounds have been resurected at some stage. Anyway one track I have always loved and didn't get the recognition it deserved(IMHO), probably because it isn't rare enough, is; "Be's That Way Sometime" Scientists Of Soul on Kashe. Just a good catchy song. Paul
