I've had this a while and just played it again recently. Great modern dancer IMO. B side of a 70s remake of Goodnight Sweetheart so maybe people might think 'Maybe' is a version of the Chantels song but it isn't. Features 'Poogie' Hudson. Is it or has it been played?

Nice tune, but more crossoverish than modern soul, I'd say....never heard it played out though

that's "pookie" hudson. "poogie" is one of the delfonics.

I always liked the way they trade off the vocals back and forth on maybe (not the chantels song). Almost in a modern, hiphop style, very unusual for the time.

Greatstone play. Since I heard it there, Ponds Forge as well  Great record imo

I know it's Pookie that's why I put Poogie in quotes. But it's what's written on the label - featuring Poogie Hudson and it sounds like Pookie to me!

I don't remember it saying "poogie" on the label of mine, if it does, that's funny, I will check when I get a chance.

Spun by me - when it was still virtually a new release! - at the "Subway" in London's Greek Street, in early '72. As was "Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight", I often used to finish the night/morning with it (unsurprisingly...)

Been spinning this one forever and a day as "Pookie Hudson and The Spaniels" [awesome 70s Philadelphia soul]-it had the dancefloor busy at The Lifeline weekender, great to see it is getting the recognition it rightly deserves.

I would have to look at it again, but was the record produced in Philly? If not, where are you getting philly? Pookie and the spaniels were from Chicago (actually Gary, IN) and lived in Washington DC later in his life.

Jimmy Bishop and Bobby Martin credited?

Yeah,I know that,Baz. I meant are those credits enough to prove it's a Philly production.

ROD

OK. At this point I should stop talking about looking at the record and actually pull out the record and look at it when i'm at home...

I might have a mint copy for sale if anyone wants one. I'll have to check, I might have already sold it a year or so ago. I must start doing some memory excercises.
