Guest Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Rather than checking every event in the events calender for who's on where & when, thought it would be a good idea if d.j's had their own websites listing where & when they are appearing, or is this a stupid idea?

All very trendy, but Malayka and I both have a Myspace sites. On mine I have put up all my old articals from the last 3 years of Manifesto. Bit slow in updating it, but you may find the articals interesting if you didn't get the mag. Inc the Manny Campbell, McKinley Jackson and few other interviews. https://www.myspace.com/davethorley Malayka page is better than mine https://www.myspace.com/malayka_erpen

For those who couldn't travel all over and prefer for whatever reason to stick to their local area, then info on regular events in that area would be more useful.. Jayne.x.

It's a good idea. I like the idea of putting up the old articles. Sean's got some of the old articles on his website that he used to write for N.Soul i think. I'm trying to ween myself off My Space though! lol. Jayne.x.

Guest Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Been doing this for about four years now as part of Soulful Kinda Music website. here's the DJ Bookings page Just what I had in mind, pity there are no other d'j's listed, like Mr.Weston for instance, it's a format that works well if you want to see/listen to a particular d'j during the year.

There's a little project for you then. Set a website up that lists DJ's bookings for the year

Guest WPaulVanDyk Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 But the idea of a dj site isn't just for now it can contain information about all kinds. Because we are DJ's that play Northern Soul we are no different to say Judge Jules, Paul Van Dyk and so on. We just don't have releases we made. Instead we might list records we have played first (if we believe) and that shows if your Soul Sam only the majors listed as i am sure more then 1 page would cover a whole he played it first list. Or maybe your a DJ and promoter and just do a site based on your club etc and parts tell about you
