slimharpo Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 My current M.S. is OK but basic. However, It only has an input point for my turntable. This means I cannot record directly from my turntable to my computer through my tuner. I am looking to update with extra inputs that will allow me to do this. I would be particularly interested in one that has a CD recorder. About mid price range? I've looked in Comet & Currys but all the models on sale seem to have only the one input point. Any suggestions/ideas including where to buy it would be welcome. Thanks SLIM

The only thing with the web is you can't have the crack with a salesperson, however if you go to one of the franchises and see one that fits the bill, try looking on the web to see if you can get the same model on there..? Depends where you live Slim... Good luck! Sam
Guest Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Slim like soulsam says try "Richer Sounds" , you may be better spending your cash on a Amp/Turntable/Speakers separate system, certain you'll get a decent sound for a pretty budget set.( plus Amp will have all the inputs for your PC hook up) Brett
slimharpo Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 Thanks lads. I live in Llandudno so I'll make my way to the Chester branch shortly. By the way Sam, have you updated your system from the tinny tannoy you used to play sounds on in Overton circa '64? SLIM

Is it a bit mad having the same name as a legendary DJ, but my mates called me it and its kinda stuck... Good luck with your purchase Slim, remember tho, if you see a system that fits the bill, see if you can find it cheaper on the web, you usually can sometimes MUCH cheaper! I've never regretted separates, whilst 'normal' systems do the job, better hi-fi equipment takes the music up a notch. Also invest in some decent cables, it may sound silly but again the difference is noticable and takes it up a notch further! Sam
Andyf Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Certainly agree about using separates, take the music a stage further. Only other comments are, most dealers will let you audition, so you can pick and choose a bit, and try and split your budget so that a greater percentage goes on the source kit (turntable/CD) and less on the speakers.
