Steve especially loved the Zeal track excellent stuff, and the seven of LR Superstars sounds even more soulful than the lp version but then i am probably imagining things as it is the same maybe just a better pressing cheers mark

Great set Steve, you've got my wants list working overtime, hard to pick out the top track because they were all top, top quality, but if you said I could have any one I wanted then I'd flip a coin over Tommy Tate and Floyd Beck - both superb. By the way I've got an album by George Bussey Experience, on ABC (I think). It's archived in the attic, but if I recall correctly, it's out and out disco (that's real disco not the kind of disco that you and I occasionaly play ), though I'm pretty sure there's a track on there. I'll dig it out and report if there's anything worthwhile.

Steve, I´ve posted comments on another forum, but not sure if you´re a member there. Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your selection of old stuff. Quality tuneage! Nick, a fine set of new tunes featured on the show! Proves that soul music is very much alive today. Cheers Melismo

I'll dig it out and report if there's anything worthwhile. An Atlantic album filled with inferior disco blandness came out in 1979, although many of the tracks were recorded in 1978. However, there is one soul tune, last track on side one of the LP. It´s called "My Feelings For You". That one is quite ok methinks. It has a very long intro before the vocals start, male as well as female vocals, could be one of the Ingram sisters singing on that one. Cheers Melismo
MarkH Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Another great show with both Mick and Steve playing an awesome selection of Modern Soul sounds (new and old stuff) that need to be heard Mark Houghton
Steve G Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Thanks for the feedback guys much appreciated. The George Bussey Experience is quite a hard 45, very intense stepper type of thing but some great vocals. Will play it again at Prestatyn ....Steve
