Guest Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Just playing around with a track from the Manhattans , 'That New Girl', on my computer. As I had nothing better to do ( looking after the kids while they are on their Easter hols ) I played the track through my 'mixer' and changed it around a bit. Anyhow , I quite enjoyed the finished article I was wondering how people in general thought about remixing tracks? Good, bad ..... Would it open up a new source for records to play for the dancers So here's the remix and the original.
Guest Andy BB Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Now look here Mr Levine. You're not fooling anyone with that Rand nickname. Give it up, I've paid my dues. I bought your Northern Soul for the New Millenium album.

Pete S Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 I've posted up about 10 remixes and some of them were really good, using "The Amazing Slow Downer" which is a program you should be able to find on the net - change the pitch of both the voice and or the backing track. Maybe slightly pointless but good fun.
Guest Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 (edited) I do it for a laugh The software I have allows you to change pitch, tempo, add extra bass and other weird things. I took great delight in dropping the voice of my 'sensational' cover up , the 'Tommy Silvertown' track , only available in my 'gallery' by several octaves. I'm expecting a top 100 hit with that offering on its release in Albania Rand 'Levine' Edited April 21, 2005 by Rand
Pete S Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Please stop it now..... It's rubbish. WOOF! link I disagree - I think it's very inventive. As NS, yes it is rubbish but you've got to admit it's clever. That's off one of the cut up/bootleg sites I think (if it's not, I apologise)
Guest lifeandsoul Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Yes can't remember where i got it from but it was something like that. It's a bit rough and could do with some more work, but it almost works. It's Kelly Rowland BTW but you probably knew that. I disagree - I think it's very inventive.
