Guest Paul Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 If boxed sets are allowed, I'd probably go for... 1: Stax/Volt Soul Singles Vol 1 (1959 - 1968) 2: Stax/Volt Soul Singles Vol 2 (1968 - 1971) 3: Stax/Volt Soul Singles Vol 3 (1972 - 1975) That's 27 discs covering approx 600 tracks; enough good soul music to keep any chav off the streets for a few weeks or so. Paul

Guest Hunnymon Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Whats a CD ? Right .............one of them round things that replaced the c90 tape! Gotcha..... I do buy quite a lot of CDs and who knows they could end up being as collectable as 45s! A top three? 1 The Montclairs "Make up for lost time (the paula recordings 1971-74)" 2 Black Ivory "Spinning Around (the today sessions)" 3 The Whispers "Bingo (the janus recordings 72-74)" All the above are complete collections that I never thought would ever be issued.
good angel Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I do buy quite a lot of CDs and who knows they could end up being as collectable as 45s! I dont think they will end up quite as expensive, but already some are really sort after. Kev
Epic Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Whats a CD ? Right .............one of them round things that replaced the c90 tape! Gotcha..... Probably a disc which helped you - via a computer- to get on sites like this.

Guest JJMMWGDuPree Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Probably a disc which helped you - via a computer- to get on sites like this. Exactly. One of them round things that replaced the c90 tape! Has anyone noticed the rather unrealistic prices that some dealers are expecting for their CDs? It's not like CDs are that expensive or difficult to duplicate. I suspect if any of them were really worth £35 and upwards Sony would quickly wang off a few more. The fact is that so far I've found one £45 CD still on sale from Tower at $11.99 (Less 10% if you spend over $30), and none of the others I've checked on Ebay has actually sold for more than ten quid.
Guest Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Detroit Soulman - Steve Mancha Northern Soul Connosseurs Vol 2 and, obviously........................ Uptown & Upnorth - Jackie Wilson
