Boogaloo Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Been waiting for a record from the US for the last month. I asked for it to be sent registered (signed for) via airmail. Emailed the seller who sent me the registered number and tried to track it using the USPS online system. If I need to investigate further what information would I need to get from the seller and how would I get the US postal service to trace its whereabouts. Thanks Warren

Thanks Warren link Warren, I usually track via the parcel force website. The customs slip that the seller attaches to the package has a customs number on it eg CP734308466us if you put that in the box and check the inbound parcel box you should get an update. 'Advised' means that they know about the parcel but it isn't in the country yet. If it is coming surface it can take up to 7 weeks  Are you positive it was sent

Thanks Warren link Warren I had to wait a whole month for a registered package,it was sent on 26th Feb from Manvil Texas and arrived on my door step on 25th March. It looks as if customs had kept hold of it for 20+ days until they got round to clearing it.It Had a "cleared" stamp for the 24th March.I tried the post office using the registered number but they will only have a record of it when customs release it.I dont know if it`s possible to contact customs.Try phoning your post office,if its in their possession at all it`ll be on their computer,it looks to me that customs has it for routine inspection. It should turn up mate. Andy D PS .did you get your Ruby Lee record Poptone ok.
Mace Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 I've had a registered parcel returned to sender when postie hasn't been able to deliver if no-one in. No card was left, and after 3 weeks or so it gets returned to sender (no Elvis jokes). They sent it back surface mail as well. Luckily, the seller emailed me to let me know after 5 months that he had got it back........ I got it a week or so later, but had to pay the seller to repost cuz it wasn't his fault. The record.....Jimmie Reed Jr, so worth 2 lots of postage..... Contact your sorting office if not already done so, just in case it's sat on a shelf like mine was.
