It could of course have been John himself "buying it" because of the changed descriptions - i.e. making sure that the guy that had previously bid highest based on the "authentic mid 60's acetate" description didn't have to end up buying it, now that it's "outed" as a Soussan "one of three copies" affair. I'd like to think John would do something like that.

I'd like to think John would do something like that. link Perhaps he gave the money (£362) to charity, rather than just take an item off his own auction because someone pointed out the "Van Gogh" was actually done by a five year old with felt-tips?
