I have looked at the photograph many times , and did not realise it was Kevin C Methley ......

Kevin was , as stated , always around in the mid - 70s , and a regular at The KGB ( as well as countless other venues ) , and was always asking me to give him a spot when I was promoting the all - nighters at Wakefield Unity ......

I will now go and write out " I must recognise old friends " , 500 times .......

Hiya Malc,

Yes my memory aint to bad ? i thought it was youself that ran The Wakefield Unity Hall Allnighters, i still have a sticker somewere on a record box from The Wakefield days [with the Stax label logo on it? i think?]-i can actually remember picking a copy of Darrell Banks "Angel baby" on U.K Red Atlantic off the Mighty Bub for £1 at Wakefield/popular spin back then- going back to Kevin Methley- havent seen him for years,he was actually working in Worksop of all places last time i saw him..........wonder if any of the guys from Sheffield see anything of him.........Mark Coe is still doing the rounds out there.

Yes i think a quick visit to your opticions and 500 lines should do the trick...

Yes , that was the sticker for The Unity .......

When I was considering designs for a badge / logo , I could not come up with anything suitable ; after giving it a lot of thought , I went for the Stax design , as I felt a / the pile of records summed up what what the all - nighter was about ......

In respect of Worksop , it would seem that the place is akin to the Bermuda triangle , for once you go there , you are never heard of again ......

You have stated the case with Methley , but more to the point , what happened to notable collector Pete Ward ?

Still see Kev fairly often. Knew him well back in the 70's and bumped into him regularly when his "interest" in the Blades was at its peak. :)

Great guy.

Pete bought an old farmhouse in Ravenfield near Rotherham to run his catering equipment business from.

He's still got his records (as far as I'm aware) and is still quite aware of what's going on, scene wise.

Always had great taste, Pete.
