Guest Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) Good call Dave. Always play that when I need cheering up. Wish I'd thought of playing that when me & the ex split. You know Malc that records so bloody bad it's an absoloute classic. Not only that but it kept Vienna by Ultravox off the no 1 spot so it deserves it's place in the hall of fame. Sad thing about " SYF " , is I once met Joe Dolce ........ Malc Burton Edited February 11, 2008 by Malc Burton
Karlm Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 If mourning is your thing then try one of the two saddest songs known to man: Ed Townsend "How could you do it" Yvonne Fair "It should have been me"
Guest Byrney Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 It would have to be: An awsome record!
Guest andyrattigan Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Depends on the scenario: To give you hope: MOVE ON UP-CURTIS MAYFIELD NF PORTER- KEEP ON KEEPING ON Mourning the wench: GENERAL JOHNSON- DONT WALK AWAY TYRONE DAVIS- WITHOUT YOU IN MY LIFE TERRY CALLIER- LOVER WHERE HAVE YOU GONE/ IF I COULD MAKE YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND LITTLE ANTHONY- HURT SO BAD FREDDIE HUGHES- SEND MY BABY BACK SMOKEY ROBINSON- TRACKS OF MY TEARS The indignant and better off without her stage: MARJOREE BLACK- ONE MORE HURT BILLY SHA RAE/EDDIE PARKER- IM GONE. (Even though you are the one dumped the lyrics work "I dont need no woman telling me what to do". That line has given me solace in the past.) Many more but thats what springs to mind.
Guest Bearsy Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) eddie parker - shes gone (i know its not the title but its a bloody great record) Edited February 11, 2008 by Bearsy
Guest Dante Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Can't remember the artist, nor the exact title, but it's something like: I hope you'll be miserable without me
Karlm Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Can't remember the artist, nor the exact title, but it's something like: I hope you'll be miserable without me Perhaps you mean "I hope you be very unhappy without me"? Versions by Bill LaBounty, Esther Philips and Tavares.
Guest Mark Holmes Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Lots of great tunes but the one going round and round in my head is of course "Ding Dong The Witch is Dead Which Old Witch The Wicked Witch Ding Dong the Wicked Witch is Dead Hi Ho the Merrio........."
Guest Dante Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Perhaps you mean "I hope you be very unhappy without me"? Versions by Bill LaBounty, Esther Philips and Tavares. that's the one. Now really, can't think really of what i'll put on my turntable. Usually soul has walked with my on happy memories, and for this kind of situations I'd rather go for other stuff. But I reckon the first choice would be: In Between Tears - Chuck Jackson (Wand)
Rbman Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I used to play "It Will Never Be Over For Me"........
Guest moggy Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Not sure if this title was ever released "You got all the money from the house sale, and the kids, you forced me to sell most of my collection so I could get a roof over my head, you ba****d, now fook off and leave me alone to get on with my life" Be a right catchy little number though dont you think

Guest Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 It's got to be 'Get out my life Woman' - Lee Dorsey. Then again, my wife is the most wonderful woman on earth, so it would be 'Moanin & Screamin' by Diamond Joe - Minit 629 (parts 1 & 2!)
