In that case has anyone got a copy of 'ain't you lying'? old track but fits in nice with the sounds ive been picking up recently
Corbett80 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Gav Evans has a copy as well. which he bought for similar money to Mace I think a few years back. The other one on a associate label is Garlon Davis which shares the backing but imho is nowhere near as good.
Marc Forrest Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Has been really big about eight / seven years ago due to hevy rotation via Alan Handscombe at the Dome. It used to fetch up to a 800 UKP. I still have my copy and used to played it along Garlon Davis on Kick Off which shares the same backing track. Marc

Marc The Garlon Davis track has got me confused each time I hear it played out. A great track in it's own right.........what's the availablity and cost of that badger out of interest?
Corbett80 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Alan don't do it! Go for the Underwood!!! TONS better! Think the Garlon Davis is cheaper by a hundred or so, but maybe a little harder? Marc could answer that better ,having them both
Marc Forrest Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Both hard, couldn`t say which is harder..Underwood I think is more indemand. GD around 250 - 500 UKP (depending where and who etc) Carl Underwood posssibly 600 to 800 UKP. Marc

Marc could answer that better ,having them both Underwood is definately my first choice Joel......a fookin blinding track Wouldn't hesitate about getting it if offered........would need to think long and hard before getting the Davis tho
pow wow mik Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) I think the GG is nowhere near as good, wouldn't pay £100 for it. The Carl Underwood's definite hard now i'd say, Soulspinner sold one, wish i'd got it now Edited February 8, 2008 by mik parry
Anoraks Corner Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Carl Underwood got plenty of spins in the mid to late 80's too. It wasn't an easy disc to find back then either, but it was still less than a ton...sigh.
Guest Russ Smith Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Carl Underwood got plenty of spins in the mid to late 80's too. It wasn't an easy disc to find back then either, but it was still less than a ton...sigh. Proper quality 45 , on a lot of wants lists, mine included.........deep sigh.

Guest clanger v2 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Totally agree about GD Mik....why have burgers when you can eat steak Mmmmmm food..... ......and I thought it was an urban myth about you and your food
Mace Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) ......and I thought it was an urban myth about you and your food More of a legend than a myth mate.. I'd have the best collection going if I didn't spend so much money on food... Edited February 8, 2008 by Mace
Tony Smith Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Carl Underwood got plenty of spins in the mid to late 80's too. It wasn't an easy disc to find back then either, but it was still less than a ton...sigh. So true, got mine from Martin K for £15 in 86/87, sold for 250 mid to late 90's

Anoraks Corner Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 So true, got mine from Martin K for £15 in 86/87, sold for 250 mid to late 90's Got mine in '86 too...paid £80 for mine...but it was trades in, mind! Still got it filed neatly under 'M' too. Agree with others as it is THE definitive use of the backing track.
