Corbett80 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Whats the deal with the Corvetts track? I thought it was brilliant btw....is that a fair price for it?
boba Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Whats the deal with the Corvetts track? I thought it was brilliant btw....is that a fair price for it? Doowop collectors probably valued it at $500-$800, but that was before there was a soul demand I guess. You know Arthur Conley was in the group, I think it's him singing lead but I'm not sure.
Ted Massey Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Bonnie Blanchard & Andy Aaron - You're The Only One - C.R.S - £307 Jesus Manny strikes again
Dave Morris Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Marvelettes - £381. Was this a demo as I paid £20 from 2nd hand record shop in Bournemouth about 12 months ago for UK issue which is in ex condition. Wow if it was an issue. Dave.

Steve Plumb Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Bonnie Blanchard & Andy Aaron - You're The Only One - C.R.S - £307 Jesus Manny strikes again I don't think that's too bad a price Ted? Now this one though- Second Re$surrection - You Done Let Daylight Catch You - Stanson - £2509 This shows the power of the soul scene and how records go from £250 to £2500 in a matter of months. I'm not knocking the fact it went for so much, just pointing out how easy it is for a record to slide up on the blind side and go into the stratosphere! Both are great tunes though! Cheers Steve
Guest Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 (edited) You dont happen to know what a White Us Marvelettes 1 sided demo or a uk Miracles - Whole lot of shaking in my heart goes for do you ? Thanks Steve Edited February 7, 2008 by Guest

Cheers Steve Well I wouldn't say that Second Re$surection has been a 250 pund record in the 2000's. Two eBay copies last year sold for 2500usd and a higher amount similiar to the Manship auction. I got 450 pounds for my beat up copy which played pretty horrible when I upgraded to a mint, and the guy who got it sold it at an even higher price to someone else.
Dave Morris Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 It was an issue, Condition : Mint minus Pic of the one sold is below Thanks for that Jim.Looks like I got a bit of a bargain then. Dave.
Marc Forrest Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Two eBay copies last year sold for 2500usd which equals about 1250 but sure not 2500 UKP ? Marc
Marc Forrest Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) Why's that Ted? Maybe Ted refers to the copies that went on ebay between 200 and 300 USD in the past. If thats the case one still has to bear in mind that those did not carry a soundfile (as did the one JM had). So maybe this fact was responsible for getting more people interested in this recent auction as they didn`t knew the tune before Edited February 8, 2008 by Marc Forrest

Corbett80 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) I thought that a copy of SR went for the equivalent of £1700 on ebay last year, and then the same seller had another that went for the same price with only one bid? https://www.popsike.com/php/detaildatar.php...nr=220102931015 Also spoke to someone who played it at Soul Essence 2006 (not Sam) and he said he'd either paid £500 odd for it or it was worth that if I remember correctly. That was the first time I heard it. One of the best 70's things I've heard. Edited February 8, 2008 by mulf
Karlm Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 which equals about 1250 but sure not 2500 UKP ? Marc Hi Marc read again what I wrote - I objected that the record in question had been a 250 pound record just months ago. 1250 and 250 is quite a difference I would say. Apart from the two ebay copies which sold for $3482 and $2500 (which I bought) and the beat up one that sold for I think 600 pounds last year a friend traded one in 2005 straight swap vs Trace of Smoke which he also sold a copy of at the same time 1000 pounds. So it has been expensive quite awhile which was my point. Late 90's I believe Crazy Beat sold a few copies for 30 pounds or something like that and I got the beat up one off eBay at $46 in 2001 (my max bid was much higher as it was listed at VG+). Don't know of any copies in the market between then and last year.
