Guest JJMMWGDuPree Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 I've just been listening to today's Radio Cambridge Northern Soul show. Ian played a track that was new to me although apparently it's been around a few years, unfortunately the plonker forgot to give the title and the name sounded like Petronel Staton but every variation of that I can think of comes up blank. Trouble is you can't wind back the BBC Player so if I want to try and pick the title from the lyrics I've got to listen to the whole show again. Does anyone know what the song was? Ta.

Garethx Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 (edited) Patrinell Staten Little Love Affair on Sepia from Seattle. A pretty rare original which has had various re-issues over the last five years. First found by John Manship and Keb Darge, I believe, in a California warehouse. Edited February 6, 2008 by garethx

Guest Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Ithenkyew! Hey, I was close, just not close enough for Google! The search is on. Thanks again! Brilliant record - John Kane played it recently at Bury and as he's Dj'ing for us next week I think I'll ask him to play it again. Nice one!. Jayne.x.

Good luck on finding an original, James James Morrison Morrison Weatherby George Dupree, (you gotta get a shorter name! ) last one sold was £2800. You can, or could, get a legal re-issue here. https://www.lightintheattic.net/ Â If not, try ebay. Edited February 6, 2008 by Trevski

No problem, I'm not averse to legal re-issues, in fact I'd rather have a mint re-iss than a scratched original, even if they're the same price. What I'm after is the sound, not the carrier. As such I probed that website, but they don't seem to have a copy, however... They do have an LP by the girl from The Repercussions and a bunch of stuff by Os Mutantes (What a weird bunch they were, I thought they broke up about a quarter of a century ago...) so all was not lost. Anyways, I've now located it on a couple of CDs so I guess I'll get it thataway. BTW, my real name is only one word (Or 3 syllables) shorter than my S-S name, but in its entirity it's way more embarrassing...
Monique Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I did see it a reissue for sale on a record list yesterday. I'll pm you the website if you want it.
