The Yank Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I'm new to Soul Source and I've never started a topic before - hope this one doesn't get me into trouble. I went on a well known website ( or should I say sike) to get auction results and was told I was a frequent user and would have to pay a yearly fee to use the site. Has anyone else run into this problem??

If you look at too many things on popsike it does make you register, maybe now they are trying to charge? I don't know how it tracks you. If it is via IP, you can try a different computer. If it is via a cookie, you could just try deleting your cookies and looking again (I guess you should do that first).

It's about $20 per year or so and not much to quibble about. As boba says, you CAN delete your cookies etc. or go to https://www.hidemyass.com and hide your IP that way, but it's a major pain if you're using Popsike a lot and in the long run easily worth the money they're asking just to not have to think about it. Diggin' Dave Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 ...and on some cases an easy way to unmask scammers on the bay. But indeed: search function on SS is free and gets more accurate results, so paying for popsike is a bit silly imo.
