Chalky Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 (edited) it's a boot, home made jobbie. Brenda Holloway a Tamla recording, Chris Clark VIP, not done at same session. One done JAn '66 other June '66 so wouldn't be on same disc. Edited January 28, 2008 by chalky
Pete S Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 All fakes - been appearing for about 18 months now
NEV Posted January 28, 2008 Author Posted January 28, 2008 it's a boot, home made jobbie innit. Thanks Chalky my initial thought when i saw it was USA version of those UK white label test presses AKA vinyl carvers with details scribbled on in biro! Mind ,a tad more imaginative than the UK "boot brigade"! Someone's been stung and thankfully its not bloody me
Tony Smith Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Colin Laws copy of Doni Burdick "Candle" had the same label ,that came from Kop...
Ernie Andrews Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Ive been dealing with the seller for years and is a genuine person- I asked if it was from the 1960s he said No it was late 70s or early 80s Dont know how he came to his conclusion but thats what he said so I ddint up my original bid
Anoraks Corner Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Colin Laws copy of Doni Burdick "Candle" had the same label ,that came from Kop... Acetates with that design label on (including 'Candle') were made by Ron Murphy in the 80's for various collectors.

Marc Forrest Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Good job I kept my Swiniging Tigers "Snake Walk" when I obtained said tune on one of tehse acetates...something tiold me already its not the real deal...you live and learn. Agree though that the seller is among the best in Michigan. Marc
Guest Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) I have "Candle" acetate on the same label design same handwriting?? came within a collection I'm selling, unfortunately the owner paid damn good money for it. Just double-checked it, "candle" acetate is exactly the same handwriting.. as Chris Clark. Edited January 29, 2008 by john manship
