Paul R Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Back in the early 70s I had the Gene Chandler There Was A Time album, and as you do looked through the other tracks for "Northern" type sounds. I loved "Bet You Never Thought", but thought it was a bit swingining Sinatra ish until I heard it out and it certainly does work. What other sounds would fit into the mould(apart from obvious supper club type things like Gene McDaniels Point Of No Return) I'll start off with the above and add The Scientists of Soul-Be's That a Way Sometime. Any others? Paul
Jim Elliott Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 The flip to Patrice Holloways' 'Stay with your own kind', (Capital) a track called 'Thats all you got to do', always has me shimmying around the kitchen clicking the odd finger when doing the dishes, great stuff, penned by Mr Hutchinson as well I believe. Neither played much these days unfortunately . Regards Jim.
