Richard's last spot at WC , was highly creditable - cover ups and known sides - and would stand up if played at any venue today ...... I have stated this before , what makes the list interesting , is that several of the records chosen for his last spot , the titles - real or given to them - mirror Richard's feelings at the time , in respect of the way he considered and viewed his situation and contribution to , and with , WC ..... Guest rachel
Fantastic Playlist that should go down well at most Niters....... well it would with me anyway!.. Was the above taken from Dave Shaws book 'Casino'?..... It's in Dave Nowell's 'Too Darn Soulful' - strangely enough was flicking through it yesterday and read that playlist! Think some you'd only get away with at an 'oldies' orientated night these days but others would stand up anywhere. Link to comment Social source share

Tamala Lewis 'You won't say nothing' Little Ann Bridgeforth 'What shoul I do?' Jimmy Delphs 'Dancing a Hole in the World' Chris Bartley. 'I go out of my mind' The Combinations. 'Like a good Girl should' Billy Woods. 'Let me make you happy' The Jades. 'I'm where it's at' Betty Boo. Say it Isn't so' Jackie Beavers 'I need my Baby' Ernestine Eady. 'Lets talk it over' Eddie Daye and the four bars. 'Guess who Loves you' Larry Houston 'Lets spend some time together' Court Davis. 'Try to think what you're doing' Gene Toones. 'What more do you want' Mr Soul. 'What happened to yesterday' Lou Roberts. 'Eveything you always wanted to know about love' The Adventures. 'Easy Baby' The Volcanos. 'The Laws of Love' The Delights. The Adventures 'Easy Baby' The Volcanos 'The Laws of Love'... These two from his Va-Va period of course. Must say though that The Adventurers' stunning intro definitely benefitted from Wigan's better accoustics! (Strange to recall also that the Volcanos instrumental side got an almost equal number of plays at the time, huh?) Happy days!
