Corbett80
Can anyone help at all...... I have this on the dark green moulded over vinyl with scratched in numbers and dodgy looking stamp mark.....checked out JM's guide which confirmed that its a boot...but the guide also says that there are Chicago originals that look the same....does this include the numbers and stamp being the same on those originals (ie. scratched in ect)? Now I'm not sure if its a boot or not! I got it from a very reputable dealer and just want to check the authenticity.... Any help greatly appreciated.... Ta We have recitified this entry in the later edition of the guide 4. Pearlean Gray is a Connecticutt artist, the original press is the mid-green thin vinyl with the SK4M matrix from New Haven Conn. The other press in heavier vinyl with the Blue/Sea/Green label is in fact a USA Mid-West pressing we all thought was a bootleg for many years, but it certainly isn't. It is to my knowledge the only Green-Sea release to get pressed in this format. Rest assured it certainly is an original, and new reprints of the book have this title blacked out. 45cellar
PHEW mines real too, thanks for that xx Yes, there is a White DEMO. The White DEMO I bought from Soul Bowl. The Stock Copy I bought from a friend. Both bought in the early 70's Thankfully this Issue of Originality has been cleared up. I have always suspected the Green with scratched Details to be Original as it has Identical scratched in Matrix to the DEMO. Guest
I have the scratched mattrix too, bought it as an original, cheap too for imo a quality sound They were cheap because nobody was sure they where right. The high quality stamped SK4M copies where considered the only originals. I'm pleased its been resolved at last. Link to comment Social source share

Jerry Hipkiss
GREAT, MINES A PROPER ONE AS WELL Mine too, mind you I've had it since the dawn of creation! I've always thought it was original as it came with a drill hole and the scratched writing seemed identical to that on many Chess singles, Still a top tune! Pete S
I got an email from, wait for it, Pearlean Gray's manager last year, she'd done a search and found I was selling a copy of her record and wanted me to send it her for nothing. I'd actually sold it but said I'd get them another one for £20. Never heard anything else from them Link to comment Social source share
