Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 "That's the Spirit" by Rev. Willingham is an absolutely INCREDIBLE 60s mod dancer. Pete didn't mention it above, but it's actually a James Brown production, with the full JB band providing the instrumental backup. "Try Me Father" on the flip is a great hunk of wailing soul, too. A complete snip at whatever he's asking for it, IMO... TONE PS - Hope you got my message re: Chiffons, Pete.
pikeys dog Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Go on then Tony, I'lll take it on your rec. Pete, PM'ed you.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Go on then Tony, I'lll take it on your rec. Pete, PM'ed you. It was also reissued in 1969, on this Excello gospel subsidiary: I have known about it since the early 70s, but it took me over 30 years to get this copy, and even longer to get a Federal one. I wish I'd had it in the 6Ts West Hampstead days, I would have loved to have rocked the house with it then and there...

Philb Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Was the Jerry Williams 45 released on Calla as I have a very strange copy of it almost seems like a boot.
Sebastian Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Has anyone got a soundclip of "That's The Spirit"?
Pete S Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 Was the Jerry Williams 45 released on Calla as I have a very strange copy of it almost seems like a boot. Yeah there is a recent topic on this very subject Phil, it's Jamaican

Larsc Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Here you are, Sebastian... My brother played this to a guy at a record fair in oslo, suddenly people started overbidding each other to get hold of it. Crazy.
