Too many - and none printable .......

Those bank holidays in Scarborough - and the locations you mentioned - hold special memories for me , which despite the years that have passed since then , never cease to bring a smile to my face , when mentioned by people I know .....

None printable ? - oh , go on then ........

We had gone one particular BHW , and after much imbibing of copius quantities of The Salisbury's finest ales , lagers and spirits , one of our party - now an ESTABLISHED DJ and PROMOTER on the scene - used his charm and good looks ( he has still got the charm ) and persuaded a young lady to accompany him to our B & B , for a night of unbridled lust .......

He lasted 10 minutes , as the young lady - fuelled by " artificial stimulation " , and the heat of the moment , went at it like the clappers , resulting in him getting a hernia from trying to keep up with her .......

Bruce Springsteen sings of " Glory Days " - He knows nowt .......

Speaking of Swish , is he still around York ? The last time I heard of him - and did not want to believe it - was that he was down on his luck , and selling the Big Issue on the streets .....

I can remember David saying after the incident was " sorted " out , that " I must try that again " :D .......

This should ring a bell with you .......

Whatever B & B we used during the BH weekends , the landladies always puzzled why we only wanted the bed , and not the breakfast , stating they could not understand why we did not want to eat  ..........

Keep the S BH memories coming ......

Speaking of the great man , here is a photograph of Bub .......

Always looked forward to seeing soulies in our town, used to love Rudies all-dayers, some classics to be had there..remembering Jinxy in one of the fancy dress do's they had there, think Jinx was dressed as the back end of a panto horse, then he started to dance, not realising someone had spilled beer on the floor as he went in for a swallow dive, his hands slipped on the wet floor, his hands divided and he crunched onto his nose, he then got up and carried on dancing with blood pouring from his snout, ho happy days...

Paul is something big in banking - I said banking - in London : I have not spoken to him in a while but , despite getting older , and being in a position of respectability , is still the PT of old we all knew , loved , and put up with ......

Don`t know wether he used to do that all the time but i certainly remember him doing it once, remember once instead of getting a b+b deciding to camp on the south cliff, so it was out with the gang on the friday as usual then back to the tent if you can imagine this scene four or five of us in one tent, john jeffries, ron pedley. salty, gray kelly, myself,&ramsay, now johns cleanliness was somewhat to be questioned really if you knew john he didn`t give a sh*t about anything or upsetting anyone, so as i said it was back to the tent with mr fartalot jeffries and the rest of the gang, but instead of going out friday salty pull a great big bag of magic mushrooms out of his bag!!!!!!!!!!!! well all i can say a walk down scarboro sea front and a hike up to the castle was an experience indeed, remember there was one of those little cages on the beach full of balls for the kids to play in, well we tried for what seemed to be an hour to figure out what it was, WHAT A NIGHT THAT WAS laugh.gif:lol::lol::lol:

It was mad in those days lads, loved rudies but must say that it gidnt have the same atmosphere as seasons. I remember all the guys fro Middlesboro etc crashing at mine over 1 weekend 17 of them feckin crazy all off their tits and Skidmore being the usual nutter. My ex wife sat on the dancefloor in Seasons pissed out of her head and making an absolute twat of herself.

I moved up to scarboro in the middle 70s after spending most weekends there with Andy Newbold, Steve Kingsley and a few other lads from Hull i loved it so much i said F**** it and moved there permanently.

I got to know loads of ppl: T Colby, R Pedley, Billy (RIP) and the rest of the York lads(who did a runner when we got into a ruck in the Boro backstreets). Backdoor Ken when he was just Ken lol. Mick Hussey is now bouncing and is settled with a baby!! Alex Smedley (anyone know where he is?) was best man at my wedding. Ronny from Harrogate, Steve Coverdale (Darlington) now one of the countries top fisherman but still dances when hes fishing hence the name Disco Dan. Chalkie White (newcastle) and me showing him how to open the old gasmeters;). Jesus we had some great times. Scrapping on the sea front getiing off yr head in Betty Blacks and then scrapping on the sea front. Getting wrecked in Salsbury and scrapping anywhere you could! it was absolute maddness and anyone who missed it what a pity.

Bank holiday weekends in Scarborough & mis-spent youth seem to go together,have loads of tales to tell & loads of battles were fought over the years but heres short but true tales;

Five of us sleeping in an Escort type van because we had no digs or mates who could fit us in, so we're parked up in a small out of the way car park trying (operative word TRYING) to get some sleep & every 30 mins or so we can hear cars starting up & leaving the car park, this goes on from midnight till about 4.30am & we're wondering what the hells going on, till finally we've had enough & I get out to check what happening. A group of lads are hovering & looking very shifty, "What you lot up to, nicking a car?" says I, "Yes", came the reply, "You been at it all night?", "Yeah, why?",says them. "Well we can't get to sleep cos of you lot, so make that your last one, ok?". Which they duly did & we managed a few hours sleep before pubs opened again.:yes:

Take care, be safe & remember, alway lock & alarm your car,

Spot.

Great memories Harry of the many weekends i attended with yourself and the above mentioned. Remember the tent incident with JJ well, not sure about my clothes always being pristine though- what with some of the states we got in to. Anyway one of my best memories of S B HOLS was going into rudies one sunday afternoon to DJ after a mad lunchtime sess only to be thrown out and told to sober up before i could DJ, found myself leaning on a fence outside and looked to my left and there was Bub, i asked him what he was up to and he replied " Ive been told to come out here and sober up before they will let me DJ" Great DJ crew eh! Happy memories.
