I know about this group (Strutt)'s brunwick LP. However, I was looking at a japanese want list on the web which was all 45s and there were two random 'strutt' things. Does this group have any 45s? If not, do they have some other LPs? Thanks.

"Time Moves On" b/w "Front Row Romeo" was issued as a 45, it got a UK issue on Brunswick in 1976.

The best track off the Brunswick album "Said You Didn't Love Him" came out on an Italian picture cover 45. Dont think it got a release anywhere else.

Thanks, Karl answered my question, the Strutt 45s I was looking at were really by the sly slick and wicked under a different name. Still obscure though, I don't remember ever seeing those. Anyone know these titles that I don't recognize that are also on Nobby's 'wants' list? Thanks:

THE TORNADOS/LOVE IN YOUR LIFE (BUMBLE BEE)

BLACKROCK EDUCATORS/GIVE INTO LOVE (COHEN)

CAVIAR/JEANIE (SURVIVOR)

COMMAND PERFORMANCE/I STILL LOVE YOU (WORLD CLASS)

PETE COOKE & THE BABY DOLLS/HOME ON THE RANGE (LOGO)

JACK SASS BAND/SAVE MY LIFE (ZEBRA)

MAGIC/I'M LOVING YOU (NORTH SIDE)

NEXT IN LINE/TRASH CAN OF MY MEMORY (MARKUP)

RASHAAD/LOVE ME SLOW (MAGIC CITY)

THE WALLER FAMILY/I BELIEVE IN YOU (MCA)

The flip to this gets regular plays on the R&B / Mod scenes - "This Is Your Last Kiss - Take It And Git"

Price around £50

Came out on lovely pale blue 'vinyl' (plastic)

Interestingly, the Waller Family is still in the business, performing live and sometimes recording.

They´ve recorded as the Waller Family, The Wallers, and some of the members of the extended Waller family have released solo material also. More info to be found over at https://www.pkrecords.com/ but no mention there of their oldest recordings, only the more recent ones. They are a very popular live act over in the States, mainy performing covers of soul standards, but also some of their own original material.

Best,

Melismo

Blackrock Educators is a little known in the UK, quite fast and disco-ey modern soul. Probably the rarest release on the label and quite pricey.

Command Performance is a pretty average to my ears, mid 80's ballad (if I don't confuse it with another track..). Think Waller Family is a classic sweet soul collectible in Japan but again might have it mixed up with something else.

Been very curious about that Jack Sass Band 45 for quite awhile, anybody heard it? Their VISA release is quite well known. Also any info on the Caviar track? Only seen the Luther Vandross soundalike "Never stop loving you" with instrumental flip is this a issue or different 45? Never heard of the others..

Totally unrelated Group i suppose but they used to play a USA 12 inch years ago at SOUTHPORT Weekender in the SOULBASE .STRUTT YOUR STUFF by Strutt Sounds a bit boring but it had great vocals and a cool bassline.
